Returns & Refunds
Last updated: 29 August 2026
Compact hardware is hard to judge from a listing. If the machine is not right, send it back.
1. The 30-day return window
You may return most items within 30 days of delivery for a refund or exchange, provided they are in resalable condition: complete with all accessories, cables, manuals and original packaging, and free of damage beyond what normal inspection would cause.
You do not need to give a reason. “It was not the machine I needed” is enough.
This 30-day window is our own policy and sits on top of — not instead of — your statutory rights described in section 6.
2. How to start a return
- Email support@computahardware.com with your order number and which item you are returning.
- We will reply with a return authorisation and the correct return address.
- Pack the item securely, ideally in its original box, and include the authorisation reference.
- Send it back with a tracked service and keep the receipt.
Please do not send anything back before you have a return authorisation. Unannounced parcels cannot be matched to an order and may be refused. In particular, do not send returns to our registered office — it is not a returns address.
3. Who pays return postage
- We pay where the item is faulty, damaged in transit, or not what you ordered. We will provide a label or reimburse reasonable tracked postage.
- You pay where you are returning simply because you changed your mind or ordered the wrong model.
Until it reaches us, the item is your responsibility — which is why we ask you to use a tracked service. We cannot refund a return that never arrives and cannot be traced.
4. Refunds
We inspect returns on arrival and aim to process them within 3–5 business days. Once approved, the refund goes back to your original payment method. Your bank then typically takes a further 5–10 business days to show it.
We refund the price you paid for the goods. Where you return an entire order because you changed your mind, we also refund the standard outbound shipping — but not any premium or expedited upgrade you chose.
We may reduce a refund to reflect a loss in value where an item has been handled more than was necessary to check it. Inspecting and testing a mini PC is fine. Returning one with missing accessories, heavy cosmetic wear, or with hardware modified or removed is not, and will be deducted for.
5. Faulty items and warranty
Products carry the manufacturer’s warranty — commonly 12 months on mini PCs, docks and NAS units, though this varies by brand and is stated on the product page where it differs.
- Faults within 30 days of delivery — contact us and we will replace or refund the item, your choice.
- Faults after 30 days but within the warranty — contact us and we will arrange a repair or replacement, working with the manufacturer where required.
Warranties cover manufacturing defects. They do not cover accidental damage, liquid damage, unauthorised repair, or damage from operating hardware outside the manufacturer’s stated specification. Overclocking, firmware modification and physical disassembly can void the manufacturer’s warranty.
Back up your data before returning anything. Storage in a returned or repaired unit may be wiped or replaced, and we cannot recover data from it.
6. Your statutory rights
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you have a legal right to cancel a distance purchase within 14 days of receiving it, and to return it within a further 14 days. You also have rights where goods are not of satisfactory quality, not fit for purpose, or not as described. Our 30-day policy is more generous than the statutory cancellation period and does not replace or limit these rights.
7. What we cannot accept back
- Software, digital licences and activation keys once redeemed
- Items custom-configured or built to your specification, unless faulty
- Consumables such as thermal paste once opened
- Items with removed, defaced or altered serial numbers
- Items returned after 30 days where no fault is present
8. Exchanges
To swap for a different model, return the original for a refund and place a new order. That is faster than a formal exchange and means you are not waiting on our inspection before the replacement ships. If the item was faulty or wrongly sent, tell us and we will ship the replacement without waiting.
9. Cancelling before dispatch
Email us as soon as possible. If the order has not been dispatched we will cancel and refund it in full. Once it is with the carrier it must be handled as a return.
10. Questions
Email support@computahardware.com. If you are unsure whether something qualifies, ask us — we would rather talk it through than have you guess.
