This policy explains what personal data ComputaHardware collects, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

ComputaHardware is a trading name of SALEFORGE LTD, registered in England and Wales under company number 17065254, registered office Malmarc House, 116 Dewsbury Road, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS11 6XD, United Kingdom. SALEFORGE LTD is the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at support@computahardware.com.

1. What we collect

When you place an order: your name, billing and delivery addresses, email address, telephone number, and the contents and value of your order.

Payment details: card and payment data is captured and processed by our payment provider, not by us. We never see or store your full card number. We receive only a confirmation of payment and a truncated reference such as the last four digits and card type.

When you create an account: your email address, a hashed password, and your saved addresses and order history.

When you contact us: the content of your message and anything you choose to include in it.

Automatically, when you use the site: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring site. This arrives through cookies and similar technologies — see section 6.

2. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To fulfil your order — process payment, ship goods, handle returns and provide support. Lawful basis: performance of a contract with you.
  • To meet legal obligations — retaining transaction and tax records, and complying with consumer law. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
  • To prevent fraud and secure the site — screening orders and protecting against abuse. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in trading securely.
  • To improve the store — understanding which products and pages people use. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, or your consent where analytics cookies require it.
  • To send marketing email — only where you have opted in, and you can withdraw at any time. Lawful basis: consent.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with parties who need it to run the store:

  • Payment providers — to take payment and handle refunds and chargebacks.
  • Shipping carriers — your name, delivery address and telephone number, so your order can be delivered.
  • Suppliers and manufacturers — where an item ships directly to you, or where a warranty claim must be handled by the manufacturer.
  • Our hosting and IT providers — who store the site and its database on our behalf.
  • Public authorities — where we are legally required to disclose information.

4. International transfers

Some of our providers operate outside the United Kingdom. Where personal data is transferred abroad, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or on standard contractual clauses together with any additional safeguards required, so that your data keeps an equivalent level of protection.

5. How long we keep it

  • Order and transaction records — six years after the end of the relevant financial year, to meet UK tax and accounting requirements.
  • Account data — until you ask us to close your account, after which we delete or anonymise it except where records must be retained under the line above.
  • Support correspondence — up to three years after the matter is resolved.
  • Marketing consent records — until you withdraw consent, plus a short period evidencing the withdrawal.

6. Cookies

We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work — keeping you signed in, remembering your basket, and securing checkout. These cannot be switched off.

We also use analytics cookies to understand how the store is used, and may use advertising cookies to measure campaigns. These are optional and are set only with your consent. You can change your choice at any time through your browser settings or any cookie control shown on the site. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop checkout from working.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Have inaccurate data corrected
  • Ask us to erase your data, where no legal obligation requires us to keep it
  • Ask us to restrict how we use your data, or object to our use of it
  • Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we relied on consent

To exercise any of these, email support@computahardware.com. We respond within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we do not disclose your data to someone else.

8. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

9. Children

This store is intended for customers aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the store or the law changes. The date at the top shows the current version. Material changes affecting your rights will be communicated to account holders by email.
